Charissa Cree Chamorro was born in Baytown, Texas, but spent her childhood living in Texas, Utah, California, Washington, Oregon and even Chile, which is the home of her father, Edgardo. Eventually, Charissa's travels led her to Boston University's Actor's Training Program. After graduating in 1998, she moved to New York City and started pounding the pavement. It wasn't long before she landed the role of Sophia Pellegrino on One Life to Live. (February 1999)
In her spare time, Charissa loves to dance, having studied flaminco, jazz, African and Brazilian styles. She also enjoys yoga, painting, drawing and pottery.
Charissa has been watching "One Life to Live" since she was nine.
Charissa has two brothers, Nathan and Antonio. Her mother's name is Liz, and her father's name is Edgardo.
In 1998, she received a "Bachelor of Fine Arts" degree from Boston University's professional acting and training program.
Her parents divorced when she was six years old.
Her name is pronounced Sha-ree-suh Sha-mor-roh.
